CFP®, CEPA, and Managing Partner of Centennial Financial Group

CFP®, CEPA, and Managing Partner of Centennial Financial Group

Ethan Stewart has been part of Centennial Financial Group since 2014, building his career around detailed planning and long-term relationships. In 2021, he stepped into the role of Managing Partner, continuing the firm’s legacy while also leaning into his personal experience in financial planning to grow and protect the wealth of individuals, families, and business owners.

His approach is shaped by both experience and training. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) professional, Ethan has completed a rigorous process covering areas like investment management, retirement planning, tax considerations, and estate coordination. The CFP® designation reflects a commitment to comprehensive planning and a fiduciary mindset that is centered on the client’s situation and goals.

In addition, Ethan holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designation, which focuses on helping business owners think through one of the biggest transitions they’ll face. Exit planning isn’t just about selling a business. It often involves timing, value, succession, and how that transition connects to personal financial goals. Ethan’s work in this area allows him to guide conversations that go beyond the numbers and into what comes next.

A Perspective Shaped by Business Ownership

Ethan doesn’t just work with business owners. He is one.

Ethan began starting and running his own companies in college. He even founded a co-working space called 814 Worxs in 2016 to help small businesses that need a professional work environment but aren’t ready to lease a full-time office space. They regularly held entrepreneur education workshops and networking events there to help support businesses in their community.

He and his wife recently co-founded Moon and Mug Coffee, a local coffee shop that reflects their shared interest in community and entrepreneurship. That experience adds a different layer to his work. Cash flow decisions, hiring, managing assets, and long-term planning are not conceptual elements, but part of Ethan’s day-to-day activities.

For many clients, especially those running their own businesses, that kind of perspective matters. It changes the conversation.

Community Involvement

Community Involvement

Ethan stays actively involved in the local community through board service and regional initiatives. He currently serves on the JIDC (JARI) Board, supporting small business development in the region that provides one-on-one coaching, helps develop business plans, training workshops, and networking events for growing businesses.

He also serves on the Cambria County Humane Society Board, working to improve community efforts to help displaced animals find caring homes and mutually beneficial relationships.

These roles keep him connected to both the community's needs and the challenges and successes of local business owners. This is a valuable perspective beyond a purely financial standpoint.

Outside the Office

When he’s not working with clients or at the coffee shop, Ethan enjoys spending time with his family and his dog Luke Skywalker. He also loves hiking, camping, golfing, woodworking, and blacksmithing. He’s a bit of a foodie and relaxes by diving into a good book. Because he is passionate about growing businesses, he is always willing to talk over new business ideas anytime he can.
